Topography – Tasmania

Decorative prints
Tasmania
Tasmania was known to European explorers before New South Wales and the British penal colony established at Hobart in 1803 was to grow into a prosperous colony. Tasmania held a particular attraction for the French explorers, perhaps following the investigation by d’Entrecasteaux in 1801 of its potential for French colonisation.
